Flint Creek Falls, is a 5 foot high natural falls with a 10 foot high dam built on its crest. The dam is roughly 90 feet wide and is the site of the first mill built in the Town of Phelps by Seth Dean in 1793. The present stone dam was built by Henry Whitney in the late 1890's. The falls has also been called Main Street Falls, Dean Falls, Old Mill Falls, and today is known locally as "The Falls at the Dam."
A small viewing area for the falls is located on the east side of Flint Creek just south of Main Street. The falls is illuminated nightly and is really beautiful in an especially cold winter.
