     Here the Niagara River thunders over the Niagara Escarpment, creating Niagara Falls. The Falls consist of two colossal cataracts, the Horseshoe Falls, 173 feet high, and the American Falls, 183 feet high. Niagara Falls is one of the world's greatest waterfalls.
