Location: East central Monroe County, Glen Road, Town of Brighton.
Corbett’s Glen Nature Park is located near the Penfield-Brighton border on the east side of Rochester, near the intersection of Routes 490 and 441. The Town of Brighton has developed an extensive trail system throughout the park. The glen is open year round from dawn to dusk. Restrooms and garbage receptacles are not available in the park.
The park consists of two areas, a northern and a southern. Two waterfalls and a set of rapids are found in the southern area. To reach the southern area of Corbett's Glen Nature Park, turn on to Glen Road from Route 441 (Linden Avenue) and park along the side of the road before the first curve. You must park in this area and walk down hill along the side of the road. Click on the map to the right for a larger version.
After rounding the bend in the road you will soon come to a bridge that spans Allens Creek. Continue along Glen Road passing through a tunnel with Allens Creek babbling along on your right side. The tunnel was constructed in 1882 by the New York Central Railroad. After passing through the 120 foot long tunnel you will enter the South Area of Corbett’s Glen. At one time this part of the glen belonged to Patrick Corbett, who lived in the house at the end of Glen Road. He farmed the area, and ran a small picnic ground. Just after exiting the tunnel there is an overlook for Tunnel Falls to your right (southeast). Tunnel Falls is 5 feet high by 25 feet wide and faces to the northeast.
Continue along the Perimeter Trail along side Allens Creek, passing by a set of rapids with a drop of 4 feet. Roughly 600 feet past Tunnel Falls you will come to an overlook and seating area for Postcard Falls.
